BUSY At Work is pleased to launch the redesign of the new look Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) website.
PACER is an initiative of the Australian Government which provides financial assistance for students in Years 4-12 across Australia to travel to the nation’s capital, Canberra. To qualify, schools must be located at least 150 kilometers from Canberra.
Under PACER, students have the opportunity to learn about civics and citizenship through visits to Parliament House, the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, the National Electoral Education Centre and the Australian War Memorial as well as other sites of cultural and historical interest.
BUSY At Work has administered PACER on behalf of the Government for the past three years and won a contract for a further three years in March 2016.
BUSY At Work PACER Team Leader, Leslie Kirkwood said the PACER team was excited to see the launch of the newly designed website.
“We have upgraded the website to improve the functionality and accessibility of information.”
“The new website has an innovative platform making it easy for the schools to navigate and find information and resources to assist them when planning their trip.”
“It provides a more engaging user experience and includes online application forms, reference check lists for eligibility and the schools can now readily upload their itineraries and subscribe to relevant news articles.”
“We have also introduced a web chat for live online enquiries, plus the opportunity for schools to share their short stories and photos of their trips through the ‘Share your Canberra Experience’ tab,” Ms Kirkwood added.
This financial year around 107,561 students from 1,991 schools participated in the PACER program.
BUSY At Work CEO, Paul Miles said BUSY was delighted with the redesign of the PACER website.
“Our business strategy includes embracing innovation and streamlining our processes to ensure that information is easily accessible. PACER is a fantastic way for students to learn about civics and citizenship and we want to ensure all Australian schools have effortless access to retrieve all the information they need when planning their visit to Canberra,” Mr Miles said.
